Bristol Food City 500 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Marcos Ambrose – Marcos Ambrose is a mid tier driver who you might want to consider picking in the Food City 500. He has fantasy dark horse / sleeper potential this week. Bristol is a track that fits his aggressive “attack the track” driving style. In his career at Bristol he has a 15.9 average finish and has had a result in the top ten 50% percent of the time. The only other tracks on the schedule where his top ten percentage is 50% or higher have more than 4 turns. On the current Bristol track configuration Ambrose has been solid. He has two top tens and his 10.7 average finish over these three races ranks as the 8th best in the series. His only result not in the top ten was in last March. In that event he was involved in an accident early in the race. Last August he finished 8th and had a 19th place average running position. (Yahoo B Driver)

AJ Allmendinger – AJ Allmendinger has had some solid performances at Bristol the last few times he’s raced here. He missed the August race in 2013 but in the spring he came home with a solid result. He drove the #51 for Finch Racing and finished 13th, had a 19th place average running position and earned the 19th best driver rating. His next most recent Bristol race was in spring 2012. In that event he qualified 2nd, led 54 laps and finished 17th. In August 2011 he had his best result and finished 12th. Last August in the 47 car Bobby Labonte performed well. He finished 14th and at one point in the race he was running near the top five when he got spun. Don’t overlook the dark horse fantasy value Allmendinger has. Dover is essentially a much bigger Bristol and that venue belongs in the conversation as to what track is Allmendinger’s best. (Yahoo B Driver)
