Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Bristol Food City 500
Kyle Larson – Sleeper alert! Kyle Larson has never driven at Bristol in a Cup car but he might surprise people in the Food City 500. Last spring in the Nationwide series he was very impressive. At the end of the race he finished 2nd racing door to door with Kyle Busch. He was beaten to the finish line by the driver who many view as the top driver at Bristol by .023 seconds. Also in that race last year he had a 7th place average running position and ran the 4th most fast laps. The only drivers who ran a higher total of fastest laps were cup drivers Kyle Busch Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick. In the August Nationwide series race at Bristol he started in 5th, finished 5th, had a 5th place average running positoin and led 40 laps. Don’t overlook this prodigy at Bristol.

Austin Dillon – One attribute that helped propel Austin Dillon to the 2013 Nationwide Series championship is his consistency. He does a good job on the track avoiding trouble. That’s a good attribute to have especially at a place like Thunder Valley where the “Big One” is an ever present danger. In 2013 in the Nationwide Series he finished 11th in March and 3rd in August. In 2012 in the lower series he finished 12th in March and 4th in August. In the Sprint Cup series he has no races under his belt. Typically at Bristol RCR has good competitive cars. As long as he doesn’t have any problems in the race I think a low double digit finish could be attainable.

Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick has three Bristol races under her belt. After each performance her result has improved slightly. Of course if your three results are 26th, 28th and 29th the circumstance could simply be the level of attrition is higher. Last August at Bristol in her 26th place result she was far from competitive. She finished 7 laps down, had a 31st place average running position and earned the 34th best driver rating. In the 2013 spring race she was also very uncompetitive and finished 5 laps down. Ironically her first Bristol race was by far her best performance. In that race with 66 laps to go she was running in 19th before she was spun and wrecked. In the Food City 500 I expect her to have another uncompetitive race.
Cole Whitt – In 2013 Cole Whitt had one start at Bristol in the Nationwide Series. In the race he started 17th, had a 17th place average running position and finished 14th. In 2012 in the Nationwide Series he had results of 6th and 16th. Unless attrition aids him I wouldn’t expect him to finish better than the mid twenties.
Parker Kligerman – In spring 2013 in the Nationwide Series Kligerman finished 9th and had a 14th place average running position. In the fall he was involved in an accident and finished 35th. I would look for his fantasy ceiling to be the same as his Cole Whitt’s in the Food City 500.
Justin Allgaier – Justin Allgaier has 10 starts at Bristol under his belt in the Nationwide Series. In spring 2010 he went to victory lane. In his five Nationwide spring races he boasts an average finish of 7.2. His Bristol Nationwide Series average finish is 14.5.
