Richmond Toyota Owners 400 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Jamie McMurray – Jamie McMurray has some quality dark horse sleeper fantasy NASCAR potential at Richmond in the Toyota Owners 400. Last fall he had his best race here in a long time. He finished 4th, had a 5th place average running position and earned the 3rd best driver rating. Also in the race he started in 7th and led 6 laps. All around it was a very solid race and his strength was being good over long runs. That marked his first top ten at Richmond since 2009. Prior to his 2009 top ten his next most recent finish in the top ten was in 2005. In some regards the writing was on the wall that he would finish well. In the spring 2013 race at Richmond Jamie McMurray was one of three drivers who elected not to pit at the end of the race when a late caution came out. It worked out well for the other two but McMurray really got burned by that decision. In the final restart he faded all the way back to a 26th place finish. Before the final caution he was running in 10th so it was an obvious mistake on the #1 teams part. Also last year at New Hampshire McMurray had results of 5th and 12th. Earlier this year at Phoenix the #1 team performed well. He started in 3rd, finished 10th, earned the 10th best driver rating and had a 11th place average running position. (Yahoo B Driver)

Greg Biffle – Greg Biffle had a solid race at Richmond last fall. He started 9th, had a 9th place average running position, earned the 9th best driver rating and finished 12th. With 20 laps to go in the race he was in sixth but when the checkered flag waved he finished 12th. In spring 2013 Biffle had a tough race at Richmond. He started in 33rd and climbed up to about 19th before his race took a turn for the worst. Around lap #165 he had a broken shock mount and then later in the race on lap 232 he spun. When the checkered flag waved he finished 36th and earned the 32nd best driver rating. In fall 2012 at Richmond he finished 9th. That marked his first top ten at RIR since 2006. Between his top ten finishes he had a result in the teens 73% percent of the time. Earlier this year at Phoenix Biffle finished 17th and had a 14th place average running position. (Yahoo B Driver)

Paul Menard – Paul Menard hasn’t had much success in his career at Richmond. He has a 24.5 average finish and has only had a result in the top fifteen 3 times. Luckily those three top fifteens have all come in the last four races. Last fall at Richmond he had his best race by a wide margin. He finished 5th, had a 14th place average running position and earned the 13th best driver rating. At the time of the Green-White-Checker by means of not pitting he was the leader of the race. Last spring at Richmond Menard finished 13th. In spring 2012 he also finished 13th. At Phoenix earlier this season he finished 23rd. (Yahoo B Driver)
