Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Richmond Toyota Owners 400
Kyle Larson – Last spring at Richmond in the 42 car Juan Pablo Montoya would’ve won the race if it wasn’t for a late caution three laps away from the scheduled end of the race. In the Sprint Cup series at Richmond Kyle Larson has zero starts under his belt. Because of that the smart thing to do is evaluate his Phoenix performance. At Phoenix he started 8th, earned the 18th best driver rating, had a 19th place average running position and finished 20th. In 2013 in the Nationwide Series at Richmond he had results of 8th and 14th. Don’t underestimate the power of momentum in fantasy NASCAR. In four of the last five races he’s had a top ten result.

Austin Dillon – Austin Dillon has never raced at Richmond in a Sprint Cup car. In 2013 in the Nationwide Series he didn’t have any success here. In the spring he crashed and in the fall he finished 12th. In 2012 he had more success at this venue in the lower series. His results that season were 6th and 9th. Earlier this year at Phoenix Austin Dillon had a troubling performance. He started 24th, finished 24th and had a 26th place average running position. Last season at Richmond RCR cars were very strong. Harvick won in the spring and in the fall both the 29 and 31 were top five contenders.

Justin Allgaier – Like all of the other Sprint Cup rookies Justin Allgaier also has zero starts at Richmond. What Justin Allgaier brings to the table is his consistency. In every race this season he’s had a result between 17th and 31st. In his last three finishes this season he’s had results of 23rd, 24th and 25th. At Phoenix this spring he finished 30th and had a 29th place average running position. Last fall in the Nationwide Series he finished 11th.
Danica Patrick – Richmond is a track where you don’t want to flirt with the idea of picking Patrick. She’s simply not competitive at this venue. In her two starts she’s finished four laps down both times. Her two finishes in those races are 29th and 30th. Phoenix is similar to Richmond and she’s performed poorly there. Earlier this season she finished 36th. Her next two most recent Phoenix finishes are 33rd and 39th.
