Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Dover FedEx 400
Kyle Larson – I think Kyle Larson is a driver who could surprise people in the Dover FedEx 400. Dover has a higher line and he’s elite at running that groove. Also Dover is a track that rookies and young drivers can take too quickly. Jimmie Johnson swept here in his rookie year and then the following year sophomore Ryan Newman swept. Last fall in the Nationwide Series Kyle Larson finished 2nd and had a 5th place average running position. In spring 2013 in the lower series he finished 10th. In 2013 Front Runner Rankings teammate McMurray performed well and in spring 2013 Montoya almost went to victory lane. At Bristol earlier this season Larson finished 10th. Heading into the Dover FedEx 400 Kyle Larson is easily the best default Yahoo C List fantasy pick you can make.

Austin Dillon – Austin Dillon has one Dover race under his belt. In spring 2013 he drove the 51 car. In that race he qualified 25th and finished 27th. Also in that race he had a 33rd place average running position and earned the 29th best driver rating. Things should be different in the FedEx 400 because his circumstances are better. I would look for him to finish around the mid-teens to high-teens on Sunday.

Justin Allgaier – Justin Allgaier doesn’t bring a lot of fantasy NASCAR potential to the table but he will save you a start and come home with a finish in the mid to upper 20’s. In the last two races this year he’s run into problems on the track but in the first 10 races he had a worst finish of 31st. Earlier this season at Bristol he had his best result of the year and finished 17th.
Danica Patrick – Dover is a challenging track for Danica Patrick. She has three races under her belt and hasn’t shown improvement. Last fall she finished 6 laps down in 29th. In spring 2013 she finished 4 laps down in 24th. In her first start in fall 2012 she finished 7 laps down in 28th. Do you see a trend here? If you pick her don’t expect anything good to happen.
