Infineon Toyota / Save Mart 350 Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Joey Logano – Joey Logano is the top ranked “Front Runner Rankings” driver for the Infineon Toyota / Save Mart 350. He’s a dark horse driver who’s underrated for his road course racing abilities. Over the last three races at Infineon he has the 3rd best average starting position (7.7), 6th best average finish (9.0), 9th best average running position (13.3) and the 10th best driver rating. Last season at Infineon Logano had a silent but solid afternoon. He started in 8th, finished 11th and led 10 laps. It’s important to point out all of his laps led came through how pit strategy works at this venue. In 2012 he finished 10th, had a 12th place average running position and earned the 13th best driver rating. In 2011 Logano won the pole, led 5 laps and finished 6th. At the other serpentine track on the schedule Logano has had some good recent results. In 2013 at the Glen he started in 9th and finished 7th. In 2011 he finished 5th. Don’t overlook Joey Logano in the Sonoma Toyota / Save Mart 350. (Yahoo B Driver)

AJ Allmendinger – AJ Allmendinger is a quality dark horse / sleeper pick at Infineon. Back in his open wheel days he was one of the best drivers on this track type in his respective series. Last season at Infineon AJ Allmendinger didn’t race here. In 2012 he finished 9th and earned the 11th best driver rating. In 2011 and 2010 he finished 13th in both races. In 2009 he finished 7th and earned the 9th best driver rating. Last season at Watkins Glen he drove the 47 car and had a good race. He started in 4th, finished 10th and earned the 6th best driver rating. That race wasn’t incident free for him. On lap 59 after he spent many laps running inside the top five he slowed on the track because he ran out of gas. That caused him to fall one lap down. His other finishes at the Glen are 8th, 4th, 13th and 11th. Recently AJ Allmendinger used one of his allocated test sessions here so expect him to have a good run in the Sonoma Toyota / Save Mart 350. (Yahoo B Driver)

Kasey Kahne – In 2009 Kasey Kahne pulled off a shocking win at Infineon. In that race he started in 5th and led 37 laps en-route to victory lane. What made it so surprising is that in his five Infineon races prior to the event he finished 23rd or worse every race. In 2010 he backed up his win with a pole and a 4th place finish. Last season Kasey Kahne started in 15th, had a 9th place average running position, finished 6th and earned the 3rd best driver rating. His strength in the race was being good over long runs. In 2012 Kahne finished 14th but his car was better than that. In the second half of the race he ran exclusively in the top seven until the first caution came out (around lap 82). That was the source of his troubles because he was a borderline driver between those who pitted and those who didn’t. In the 2011 race at Infineon Kahne was very good. He was running around 3rd in the closing laps but he had a run in with Juan Pablo Montoya that didn’t work out very well for him and as a result he finished 20th. At Watkins Glen Kasey Kahne hasn’t been nearly as good. He’s raced there 10 times and has never finished in the top ten. (Yahoo A Driver)
