Indy John Wayne Walding 400 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Greg Biffle – My prediction for Greg Biffle is that he’ll finish mid pack in the Indy John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard. Last season he was a disappointment for fantasy racers and was a mid-twenties driver all afternoon. He started 27th, had a 25th place average running position and finished 24th. Also in the race he earned the 23rd best driver rating and ran 0.0% percent of the laps in the top fifteen. His problem in the race was that he was simply bad. During his final pit stop he told his team that he had a terrible car all day. Prior to that race he had five consecutive top tens at Indy. At the time that ranked as the longest top ten streak in the series. Over those five races he had a 5.0 average result, 7.8 average running position and the third best driver rating. In three of those five races he finished 4th or better. In 2012 he was as good as anyone not named Jimmie Johnson. In the event he started in 5th, had a 4th place average running position and finished 3rd. Also in the race he led 4 laps and earned the 4th best driver rating. In 2010 he had one of the best cars. In that race he earned the best driver rating, had a 3rd place average running position and finished 3rd. One attribute I don’t like about Biffle this week is his engine. I think it’s pretty clear the Roush Fenway cars are lacking speed. Pocono is the most similar track and at that venue he finished 16th, had the 17th best driver rating and had an 18th place average running position. (Yahoo B Driver)

Brian Vickers – Brian Vickers has missed the last two races at Indy. It will be a bigger disadvantage for fantasy racers then it will be for him in the race. In 2011 he had his most recent race and finished 15th. Also in that event he started in 31st, earned the 19th best driver rating and had an 18th place average running position. His next most recent race was in 2009 and in that event he finished 5th. He only has one other good result to his name and that was a 3rd place finish in 2005. At Indy minus a 2008 engine failure and a 2004 crash he has a 12.2 average finish. Earlier this season at Pocono he didn’t have a great performance and finished 19th. (Yahoo B Driver)
