Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Kevin Harvick – Said his car was smooth as glass in practice #2. Over a ten lap run in Happy Hour his crew chief said his lap times looked really good. Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s crew chief said his car was good. 20 minutes into practice he noted his car was getting tighter center off. His car didn’t take off good but he was very happy with it over the course of a run.
Carl Edwards – Changed his steering system between practices. Early in Happy Hour he reported that the issue was no longer present. His car was loose.
Ryan Truex – Complained about pain in his collarbone and a headache. Matt Crafton is the top pick for being a replacement driver if he can’t race.
Ryan Blaney – Drove for Trevor Bayne once again who was in Ohio.
Jimmie Johnson – “Loose off throttle”. That comment came after a 5 lap run. Following his 4th run he said, “We were better the other way.” Towards the end of practice he said, “Still tight. Tightest into three.”
