Ryan Newman – Following practice #2 it was reported that his crew chief liked what he seen out of the #31 car.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Missed much of practice early because of a possible miss in his engine. With 5 minutes left in practice he said his car felt like there’s no rebound in his shocks. “I can’t go. There’s no grip in the back. Lot of problems with the splitter in turns 3 and 4.”
Carl Edwards – His 6th lap time during his first run was slower than many drivers who ran more laps.
David Gilliland – Said his drive is better but he’s tight. After the midpoint in practice his car was turning better but he couldn’t get on the gas how he wanted.
David Ragan – Reported his car was tight. 35 minutes into practice he was looking for more front grip.
