Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – New Hampshire Sylvania 300
Kyle Larson – In July Kyle Larson made his first Sprint Cup start at New Hampshire. It was a successful afternoon for him and when the checkered flag waved he finished 3rd. Also in the race he earned the 6th best driver rating, had an 11th place average running position and led 14 laps. A lot of credit for his good finish can be traced to him doing a pit strategy gamble on lap 113 during a caution when nearly everyone came to pit road and he didn’t. That strategy worked out favorably for him because another caution came out for debris before he had to come down pit road under green. In 2013 in the Nationwide Series he was a sub top ten driver. In that race he started 13th, had a 13th place average running position, and finished 14th. In the combined races on shorter flat tracks this season he has a 7.5 average starting position, 12.5 average finish and has scored the 9th most points.

Austin Dillon – Austin Dillon finished 14th at New Hampshire in July but that result is somewhat misleading. For the first two-thirds of the race he typically ran around the mid-twenties. In the last third he ran most of his laps right around 18th. The Green-White-Checker was beneficial for him and it boosted him up a few spots in the running order when others ran out of gas or had to pit for more. In July he started in 23rd, had a 22nd place average running position and earned the 21st best driver rating. In only 3.6% percent of the laps completed did he run in the top fifteen. On shorter flat tracks this season he has a 21.3 average finish and has scored the 23rd most points.

Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick has three New Hampshire races under her belt and she’s performed better every race. In her first race last July on lap 237 she was racing Ricky Stenhouse Jr. for 22nd but she got loose and into the #17 which sent him into the wall. Prior to wrecking I would estimate her average running position was around 27th. When the checkered flag waved she finished 37th. Last fall at Loudon she finished 27th, had a 25th place average running position and earned the 25th best driver rating. In July at New Hampshire she had a 23rd place average running position and finished 22nd. Seeing her improve more from July might be a stretch but I think if you pick her you would be happy with a result right around 20th.
Justin Allgaier – In July Justin Allgaier made his first start at New Hampshire. In the race he started in 25th, had a 27th place average running position and finished 37th after getting involved in an accident. In the other races on shorter flat tracks this season he’s also lacked success. In the four combined races on shorter flat tracks he has a 29.0 average finish.
