Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Dover AAA 400
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson is the best Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR pick for the Dover AAA 400. At the Monster Mile this spring he qualified 5th but started in the back due to an engine change. That didn’t prove to be much of an issue for him. He had a strong car and he reached the top ten around lap 160. From that point on he typically ran between 5th and 11th. When the checkered flag waved he finished 11th and earned the 15th best driver rating. Now that he has a race under his belt and likely won’t be starting in such a hole imagine how good he can potentially be. Last fall in the Nationwide series Larson finished 2nd and had a 5th place average running position.

Austin Dillon – Austin Dillon performed better than he finished in June at Dover. When the checkered flag waved he finished 20th but it’s important to note his race wasn’t incident free. On lap 317 while he was running around 14th he ran out of fuel under green. Then following his pit stop he was penalized for speeding on pit road and had to serve a pass through penalty. After that series of unfortunate events he dropped back to 23rd in the running order. Austin Dillon has one other Sprint Cup race under his belt. In spring 2013 he drove the 51 car. In that race he qualified 25th and finished 27th. Also in that race he had a 33rd place average running position and earned the 29th best driver rating.

Danica Patrick – Dover hasn’t been a good track for Danica Patrick. High attrition rates have aided her here and have created some misleading results. She hasn’t had any major problems in any race and she averages finishing 5.25 laps down. In June she had her best race and finished four laps down in 23rd. Also in the race she started in 28th, had a 25th place average running position and earned the 26th best driver rating. In fall 2013 she finished 6 laps down in 29th. In spring 2013 she finished 4 laps down in 24th. In her first start in 2012 she finished 7 laps down in 28th.
Justin Allgaier – This spring Justin Allgaier made his first Sprint Cup start at Dover. In the race he started in 30th, had a 29th place average running position and finished 26th. If you pick him look for a finish likely around the mid twenties. Over the last five races he’s scored the 27th most points and has a 24.0 average finish.
