Dover AAA 400 NASCAR Practice #2 Notes
Jimmie Johnson – On Friday in practice at Dover for the AAA 400 his car was a tick free. Early Saturday morning he was,”Tight in, loose off.” Chad Knaus was happy with his lap times 20 minutes into practice on the set of tires he was using. 25 minutes into practice Johnson said his car was loose off turn 2 but he had better front grip. He said his car improved following his second run. 35 minutes into practice Johnson was happy with his car but he wanted better grip in turn 1 and 2.

Denny Hamlin – Feels good in race trim and is fine tuning. A little tight from the center off. 10 minutes into practice he said, “Man, it is just ice out here.” Later in practice he said he was too loose on late exit.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Started practice with a long run of 11 laps. His car was tight and lacking forward grip on exit. A little later in practice he said his car was super loose and he needed it tightened up. Focused on running the high-line in the second half of practice. Half way through practice his crew chief told him he had a great run. Towards the end of practice he said he needed a little more turn.
Ryan Newman – Early in practice he said he was a little loose and bouncy. Later in practice his car was still bouncing. At the end he said, “I don’t know if that was any better at all. The front end just does not feel responsive to the center.”
