Talladega Pre-Race Notes
RCR engine powered cars swept the top six starting positions.
Tony Stewart started in the back for an unapproved adjustment.
Michael Waltrip started in the back for an unapproved adjustment.
Michael Annett started in the back for an unapproved adjustment.
Kyle Busch started in the back because of an engine change.

Talladega Race Notes
Paul Menard started in 2nd and led the first five laps.
Kevin Harvick led the top lane early in the race.
Danica Patrick had a fast car and she raced her way to the lead running the low line on lap 6.

On lap 14 Brad Keselowski was trying to force his way into the lead passing Danica Patrick but it resulted in him spinning. His radiator line got cut and it cost him several laps on pit road.
During Keselowski’s spin Jamie McMurray ran down into the grass to avoid contact. The damage McMurray got from this incident dropped him down a lap.
Running order on lap 22: 22,48,20,11,27,95,99,9,24 … 4,55,41,47,5,13,98,3,88,32
Austin Dillon liked his car. During his first pit stop he said it was comfortable and he told his crew chief not to change it.
Carl Edwards took the lead on lap 35.
Jamie McMurray who got damage from running into the grass earlier in the race lost a lap under green during lap 36.
Danica Patrick had water pressure heat issues around lap 38. Within the first 60 laps all of the Stewart-Haas Racing cars reported engine temperature issues of some sort.
