Kurt Busch raced in a backup car after wrecking in practice.
Race Notes
The race started under caution for the first 10 laps.
On lap 12 Dale Earnhardt Jr. clipped the grass and then shot up into the wall hard. His car was in flames and he was done for the day.
Jimmie Johnson was running right behind Dale Earnhardt Jr. when he got into the grass and he got damage to the front of his car. Johnson’s damage sent him to the rear of the field but he was up to 24th on lap 36.
On the lap 25 restart following the Earnhardt Jr. caution Kevin Harvick got the lead and led 1 lap. Tony Stewart retook the lead the following lap.
On lap 28 Kevin Harvick’s engine blew up and he was done for the day.
Around lap 44 Jimmie Johnson had a cut left front and had to make an unscheduled pit stop. It dropped him three laps down.
Jamie McMurray looked good early.

Top ten following the lap 50 competition caution: 14,2,99,24,16,1,11,22,31,21
During the lap 50 competition caution Almirola lost 8 positions and Kahne lost 15.
Jeff Gordon really liked his car. It was good over long runs.

Brad Keselowski passed Tony Stewart for the lead on lap 77.
Carl Edward’s car really dropped off over the second run of the race.
Tony Stewart’s car really started to fade after lap 100. He was tight in the center and loose off.
