If you thought the drivers had short tempers last week at Texas, just wait until Sunday’s race at Phoenix. It’s not like we haven’t seen a brawl in the desert before. Sunday’s Quicken Loans Race for Heroes 500 is the final event in the Eliminator Round and the only way to guarantee a chance for the championship is to win. No Chaser has won a race in this round of NASCAR’s playoffs but I think we’ll see one in victory lane this weekend. Phoenix was reconfigured and repaved in the middle of the 2011 season so any race data before November of that year is pretty much useless in my opinion. The typical qualifying/practice schedule is in place this weekend.
