Homestead-Miami Ford EcoBoost 400 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions
Greg Biffle – Greg Biffle has had success at Homestead. In the mid-2000′s he won three consecutive season finales. His last victory in that stretch was in 2006. Since then he has two top tens and has led just 2 laps. Over the last seven Homestead races minus a 2011 engine failure he has a 14.0 average finish, 17.8 average running position and the 15th best driver rating. Last season at Homestead he didn’t perform well. He started 16th, had a 19th place average running position, earned the 19th best driver rating and finished 24th. In 2012 he had his best result since his win. In that event he finished 5th but that result can be attributed to fuel strategy. In the race he started in the back due to a crash in practice. In the race he had a 20th place average running position and only ran in the top fifteen in 27.3% percent of the laps completed. In 2010 he finished 10th. This year at 1.5 mile tracks he’s been a disappointment. For the season at tracks of this length he has an unskewed 15.8 average finish, 18.5 average running position and has run in the top fifteen in just 30% percent of the laps completed. Also in only 2 of the 10 races at tracks of this length has he finished in the top ten. (Yahoo B Driver)
AJ Allmendinger – AJ Allmendinger has performed well at Homestead with the exception of last season. In 2013 he started 36th and finished 36th. That result deserves an asterisk mark because around lap 40 he had a broken shock mount that dropped him down 11 laps while his team repaired the issue. Prior to having his issue he was running around the mid-twenties. In his first four Homestead races he finished between 5th and 15th every race and had a 10.3 average finish. Recently this team has had improved performances at 1.5 mile tracks. In the last three races at tracks of this length he’s scored the 12th most points, has a 12.3 average result and has finished between 11th and 14th every race. (Yahoo B Driver)

Clint Bowyer – Clint Bowyer is excited to go to Miami. It’s been a long season and he’s ready to hit the beach. Performance wise at 1.5 mile tracks this year he’s been a disaster for fantasy racers. At 1.5 mile tracks this season he has a 26.0 average result and has only finished in the top ten once. In only 3 of the 10 races has he finished in the top twenty. In the last five races at 1.5 mile tracks he has a 33.2 average finish. Notable drivers who have outscored him in this stretch of races are Cole Whitt, Reed Sorenson, David Ragan and Michael Annett. At Homestead Clint Bowyer has experienced success. In his career minus the 2007 race he has a 7.3 average finish. Currently at Homestead he’s on a three race streak of finishing in the top six. Last season Clint Bowyer started in 25th but that wasn’t a problem. In the race he had a 12th place average running position, earned the 10th best driver rating and finished 5th. In 2012 Clint Bowyer had a very solid race. He started in 6th, had a 5th place average running position and finished 2nd. Also in the race he earned the 2nd best driver rating. In 2011 he finished 6th. (Yahoo B Driver)
