Homestead Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Kevin Harvick – Started in race trim. Looked fast early. He passed Ryan Newman and pulled away. Went to qualifying trim 30 minutes into practice. Had some radio issues throughout the session.
Ryan Newman – Started in race trim. He’s the only Chase finalist who didn’t test here. Tight on entry. Feels fairly confident in race trim. Early in practice he was hitting the splitter.
David Gilliland – Tight across the center.
David Ragan – Said his overall balance isn’t bad. Had good grip. A little snug dead center and on initial throttle.
Martin Truex Jr. – Brought out a caution when fluid came out of his car. He later returned to the track without an update. Focused on qualifying trim exclusively.
