Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Auto Club
David Ragan – In the Auto Club 400 David Ragan will be in a good car. The #18 JGR Toyota has won the last two Auto Club races with Kyle Busch behind the wheel. This year in the #18 car at intermediate tracks Ragan has results of 18th and 22nd. Also in his races on this track type in 2015 he’s scored the 16th most points and has a 22nd place average running position. During his tenure with Roush Fenway Racing at Auto Club Speedway he was typically a 12th through 17th place performer.

Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick didn’t have a great performance at Auto Club Speedway in 2014 but when the checkered flag waved she finished 14th. In the event she started in 27th, had a 26th place average running position and earned the 22nd best driver rating. Her race wasn’t incident free. With 61 laps to go while she was running in 19th she came to pit road because of a flat tire. That dropped her down a lap into the 30’s. From that point to the conclusion of the event she rallied up to the front. It should be noted that if the final caution didn’t come out she likely would’ve finished around 18th. In 2013 she started in 40th, had a 31st place average running position and finished 26th. One aspect that I don’t like about her here is her driving style. She’s a driver who typically runs right at the bottom of the track. At Auto Club Speedway that doesn’t translate into success over long-runs so in a way I think she benefited from how the race played out in 2014 (no long runs).

Justin Allgaier – Justin Allgaier has one start under his belt at Auto Club Speedway. Last season he started in 28th, finished 28th and had a 30 place average running position. At intermediate tracks this season he has results of 20th and 31st. It’s important to note in his 20th place performance at Atlanta he finished two laps down and had a 25th place average running position. Michigan is a two-mile oval like Auto Club and last year at that venue he had results of 16th and 42nd.
Brian Scott – At Auto Club Speedway Brian Scott will be driving the #33. Last year he was in this race and started in 37th and finished 35th. In his other two races at high-speed intermediate tracks last year he finished 28th and 32nd. A few weeks ago he raced at Las Vegas and finished 13th. At Vegas it should be noted that his average running position was 21st.
Brett Moffitt – At Auto Club Speeway Brett Moffitt will be driving the #34. His lone appeal to people is his 8th place finish at Atlanta a few races ago when he drove the #55. Also from that event it should be noted he had a 20th place average running position. The following week after that when he drove the #34 he finished 37th. I wouldn’t expect much from him here because over the last couple of years David Ragan in the #34 has been a mid-twenties driver at best.
