Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Bristol Food City 500
David Ragan – With Kyle Busch’s return getting closer and rumors of Erik Jones making some Sprint Cup starts you have to use David Ragan while he’s available in the 18. He might possibly be down to a handful of starts in this ride so you have to use him while he’s available. I think Ragan is starting to get comfortable driving the 18. In his last two races he’s come home with his best results (5th and 13th). One attribute you have to like about Ragan is that he’s done a good job avoiding problems. His worst result in 2015 is 22nd. In the last seven Bristol races Ragan has six results between 20th and 32nd. His one outlier result was a 12th in August 2013. Last August at Bristol he was a low to mid-twenties driver all evening. When the checkered flag waved he finished 4 laps down in 23rd. Also in the race he had a 26th place average running position and earned the 29th best driver rating. Last spring at Bristol he finished 31st. The 18 car is much more competitive than his other rides so look for him to be perform better than his historical norms.

Justin Allgaier – There’s horses for courses and Justin Allgaier seems to like Bristol. He’s run here twice in NASCAR’s top series and has two teen results. That gives Bristol the unique distinction of being the only venue he’s raced at multiple times where he’s finished in the top twenty 100% percent of the time. Last August he started in 19th and finished in 19th. It should be noted he ran better than his result. His final pit stop was slow and it dropped him about 10 positions into the low twenties and he only advanced a few spots forward in the closing laps. To give you a better idea about his level of performance here’s a link to his Yahoo Racing Chart. Also in the event he had a 17th place average running position and earned the 19th best driver rating. The March 2014 race was one of survival and he evaded the carnage. He started in 30th, had a 21st place average running position and finished 17th. Also in the race he earned the 26th best driver rating and ran in the top fifteen in 5% percent of the laps completed. In the lower series at Bristol Allgaier went to victory lane in spring 2010.

Danica Patrick – In spring 2014 Danica Patrick had her best performance at Bristol. It’s important to note the bar is extremely low so that’s not saying much. In that event she started in 36th, had a 24th place average running position and finished 18th. Also in that race she earned the 28th best driver rating and ran 0.0% percent of the laps inside the top fifteen. The attrition rate was high and performance wise she likely had a mid-twenties car. Her highlight of the race was when she ran into the back of Clint Bowyer on pit road while he was parked in his stall. In her four other Bristol races she’s finished between 26th and 29th every race. Last August at Bristol she finished in 27th and that’s reflective of her performance even though her evening wasn’t incident free. On lap 264 while she was running in 29th she was spun but got no damage.
David Gilliland – At Bristol David Gilliland has a proven track record for finishing in the 20’s. Currently at Bristol he has 10 consecutive results in the 20’s. Also over this ten race stretch it should be noted he’s only finished on the lead lap once. In 2014 he had results of 25th and 22nd. In 2013 his results were 24th and 25th.
