Kansas SpongeBob SquarePants 400 Happy Hour Practice Notes
Erik Jones – His crew chief said practice #1 went very smooth. In this session they started working on dialing in his race trim setup. Went to qualifying trim in the second half of practice. Ended practice #1 on the speed charts.
Kyle Larson – Between practice sessions for the Kansas SpongeBob SquarePants 400 he said he liked his car. At the start of Happy Hour his car was really loose so he went back to what worked in practice #1.
Jimmie Johnson – He said he didn’t post a fast lap in practice #1 but his car was good. He focused on qualifying trim this session. 15 minutes into practice he said both ends were extremely loose. Towards the end of practice he said he was feeling much more comfortable in his car.
David Ragan – Said his car has some speed but he needs to be better in race trim. At the end he said, “Good effort, we have speed we can pick up for qualifying.”
AJ Allmendinger – In the first practice session he was tight. In this session he was twitchy loose.
