Dover Asterisk Mark Report
In every race there’s drivers who walk away with misleading results. Last fall’s race at Dover was pretty straight forward but there was still drivers who walked away with asterisk mark finishes.
The driver with the most notable asterisk mark finish was Kevin Harvick. He had the dominant car but his race wasn’t incident free. On lap 252 while he was leading he had a left front flat and his splitter was grinding the track. Prior to that issue he led 88.5% percent of the race. When the checkered flag waved he finished 13th.
Kasey Kahne also had a misleading result. He didn’t have a major problem but around lap 160 he short pitted and shortly afterwards the caution came out which cemented him down two laps. It’s hard to overcome an issue like that. Prior to that problem he was probably between 8th and 12th place good.
