Pocono Race Notes
Kyle Larson won the pole and selected the outside lane. He never led a lap in the race.
Joey Logano started second in the inside lane. He led the first 30 laps.
On the first lap Brad Keselowski who started in 3rd lost control of his car in turn 3 and fell back to 12th.
Notable Moment: On lap 10 Jimmie Johnson had a flat tire and it brought out a debris caution. Before he had his problem he was running around 17th. As a result of his issue he went down a lap.
During the first caution Kurt Busch pitted from 3rd. He was the only driver running near the front of the pack to pit. After the first round of pit stops he was running in 21st.

BIG MOMENT: On lap 16 Danica Patrick had a tire rub and later that lap it went flat. It caused her to have hard contact with the wall. Before she had her problem she was running in 10th.
During the Danica Patrick caution Jimmie Johnson got a free pass and got back on the lead lap.

BIG MOMENT: On lap 23 Kyle Busch slowed on the track and said his cockpit was filling with smoke. He was running in 17th before it happened. He came to pit road and then his team pushed his car to the garage. In an interview he said he thought he had a good car.
BIG MOMENT: On lap 28 Landon Cassill hit the wall hard in turn 2 and brought out the caution.
Just prior to the Landon Cassill caution Kasey Kahne and Jamie McMurray just pitted.
During the Cassill caution Kurt Busch stayed out and inherited the lead. During that round of pit stops Brian Vickers and Tony Stewart took 2 tires and moved up several positions. 10 drivers elected not to pit.

Jeff Gordon’s strength in the race was being good over long runs.
On lap 45 green flag pit stops started for drivers who stayed out earlier including Kurt Busch, Martin Truex Jr. and Matt Kenseth.
Notable Moment: On lap 51 Kasey Kahne and Joe Nemechek got together. Nemechek got into the wall hard and it brought out a caution.
During the Nemechek caution Tony Stewart said his car was getting better.
During the Nemechek caution Jimmie Johnson said his car was just as good as it was before he had his issue earlier.
Clint Bowyer’s car worked really good on exit of the corners. He was in 5th on lap 57.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was up to 3rd on lap 60.
On lap 65 on pit road during green flag pit stops Clint Bowyer said he was happy with his speed.
On lap 73 Tony Stewart said that he felt something was wrong with his car (bad hub?)
Kurt Busch used the same car he used in the June 2014 race.
