Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Pocono Axalta 400
Danica Patrick – Last August at Pocono Danica Patrick looked like she had a competitive car early. In the event she started in 10th and she ran around that range until lap 16. On that lap she had a tire rub and later that lap she had hard contact with the wall. After that you could pretty much stick a fork in her. When the checkered flag waved she finished 4 laps down in 30th. She’s lucky the attrition rate was high because it could’ve been a lot worse. Last June she played a big part in the outcome of the event even though she wasn’t competitive. In the closing laps Brad Keselowski was trying to get debris off his grille but she got loose off a turn which cost Keselowski all of his momentum. In the race she started in 16th, had a 23rd place average running position and finished 37th. Her race wasn’t incident free. On lap 137 while she was running 2nd because of pit strategy she brought out the caution when she got into the wall. In August 2013 on lap 110 Danica Patrick was caught up in a multi-car wreck that sent her to the garage area. At the time of the incident she was running around 20th. In June 2013 she started in 30th and finished 29th. (DraftKings – $8,000)

Ty Dillon – On Sunday Ty Dillon will be racing the #33. Look for his car to be RCR prepared. This season he’s been in two races and has finished on the tail end of the lead lap in both races. At Daytona he finished 28th and at Kansas he finished 26th. At Pocono in NASCAR’s top series he has zero starts under his belt. In 2013 in the Truck series at Pocono he started 11th and finished 20th. Performance wise in that race he probably had top five potential but he had some sort of issue. (DraftKings – $7,400)
David Ragan – Recently at Pocono David Ragan has been a consistent performer. Over the last three races he’s finished between 18th and 21st. Also over this three race stretch he has a 25th place average running position and the 23rd best driver rating among drivers who competed in all three events. At Pocono I would pencil in his best case fantasy scenario around the low twenties. (DraftKings – $8,800)
Justin Allgaier – Justin Allgaier was a deep sleeper last August who came up big for those who were lucky enough to have him on their fantasy team. Given his tier he ran fairly well all race long. In the event he earned the 14th best driver rating, finished 16th and had an 18th place average running position. It should be noted however that the attrition rate was quite high. His other Pocono start came in June last season. In that event he didn’t run nearly as well. He led 6 laps by being out of sync with the field but he typically ran within a few deviations of the low twenties. When the checked flag waved he had a 21st place average running position and finished 27th. (DraftKings – $7,400)
