Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Michigan Quicken Loans 400
Danica Patrick – Michigan ranks as one of Danica Patrick’s best tracks. In her career at this venue she has a 17.8 average finish, has completed 100% percent of the laps, and has had a result in the top 23 every race. Last August she started in 14th and finished 18th. On lap 26 she spun and caused the “Big One” which sent many drivers to the garage area. Performance wise she finished right where she should’ve. In the 120 laps before the completion of the race she ran around that range. In June 2014 she had one of her better performances of the season. In that race she started in 27th, had a 22nd place average running position, earned the 22nd best driver rating and finished 17th. In August 2013 she finished 23rd. In June 2013 she finished 13th and earned the 21st best driver rating. This season at high-speed intermediate tracks Danica Patrick has finished between 16th and 27th every race.
Ty Dillon – Ty Dillon will be back in action at Michigan driving the #33 RCR prepared Chevy. So far this season he’s been in three races and has finished between 18th and 28th. I think of Kansas as a Mini-Michigan and at that venue in May he finished 26th. Last week at Pocono he had a solid afternoon and finished 18th. Last year in the Xfinity Series Dillon finished 9th at Michigan.
David Ragan – This week Brian Pattie will be making his debut with David Ragan serving as crew chief. Pattie was formerly with Clint Bowyer. There will be a learning curve but this should ultimately prove to be a good thing. Intermediate track races haven’t gone smoothly for Ragan at MWR. In his two races on this track type for the organization he’s had results of 33rd and 41st. In five of Bowyer’s last six races on this track type he’s finished between 20th and 24th. In the Michigan Quicken Loans 400 I would look for Ragan to finish somewhere around that range.

Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney will be driving the #21 Penske Racing prepared Ford at Michigan. So far this season it’s looked like he’s been an R&D driver for Penske, or at least I would like to think so. In 2015 he’s been in five races and in three of them his engine couldn’t go the distance. In the two races his engine went the distance he’s finished 4th (Talladega) and 19th (Las Vegas). Blaney has no Sprint Cup starts at Michigan.
Justin Allgaier – Justin Allgiaer has two Michigan races under his belt. Last August it’s hard to estimate how good he was because he was involved in the lap #26 “Big One” which caused him to finish 103 laps down in 42nd. In that event he started 17th and he raced up to about 10th before the competition caution on lap 20. His team then had a slow pit stop which dropped him into the 20’s and then he was collected in the carnage when Danica Patrick spun. In June 2014 he ran much better and was perhaps the surprise performer of the event. In the race he started in 17th, had a 14th place average running position and finished 16th. Also in the race he earned the 15th best driver rating and ran in the top fifteen in 71% percent of the laps completed. Auto Club Speedway is Michigan’s sister track and earlier this year at that venue he finished 12th. What concerns me about him is that in the last three races at high-speed intermediate tracks he has a 37.3 average finish.
