Michigan Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report
NASCAR races are hardly ever incident free and there’s always drivers walking away with asterisk mark finishes. Last August at Michigan quite a few drivers walked away with finishes they didn’t deserve. Fantasy racers who just look at results are really missing the big picture. Below are drivers who had a misleading result in August 2014.
Kyle Busch might’ve had a good car last August but it’s hard to know how good he was. I’m pretty sure he was better than 39th though. On lap 4 he got into the wall and then immediately went to the garage.
Jimmie Johnson had a great car last August at Michigan and he crossed the finish line in 9th. Are you wondering how that could be misleading? In that event Johnson broke his shifter before lap 50 and after that he used vice grips to shift. Prior to his issue he looked extremely competitive.
Kyle Larson appeared to have a good car last August. His first problem in the race happened during the competition caution when he had contact with Dale Earnhardt Jr. which knocked out his cars toe. Then later in the race on lap 97 he got into the wall hard which marked the end of his day. Prior to his issues he looked like a top ten threat.
