Indianapolis Jeff Kyle 400 NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – 30 minutes into practice he radioed his team and said his car wasn’t very good. His car was tight everywhere. He felt like his car had a lot of drag on the straightaway. About half-way through the session he said the power steering feels a little weird and acted like it can’t keep up.
Jamie McMurray – Started in race trim. Had some sort of loose line. Said he’s had pretty good speed. At the end of the session he went to qualifying trim.

Kevin Harvick – Started in race trim and was quick over his opening run. Over long runs he probably had the quickest car on the track. He went to qualifying trim around the last 30 minutes of practice.
Timmy Hill – Crashed 10 minutes into practice. Will be going to a backup car which is essentially a shell of a car.
Austin Dillon – They’ve been working all day on fixing his tight condition. He had a bad vibration everywhere about half-way through practice. In a qualifying trim run 90 minutes into practice he said, “Way better. I could probably have some more security with some wedge.” With only 20 minutes remaining he said he still had a vibration.
