Indianapolis Jeff Kyle 400 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Joey Logano – Complained about vision problems about what’s going on behind him. He said with the new rules package accelerating isn’t as quick but they can stay in the gas more in the corners. He’s looking for more speed.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Said he couldn’t see anything behind him with the new spoiler and wicker. About 40 minutes in practice he said he was getting tight when he was catching other cars.

Jimmie Johnson – Showed good speed early. Had some sort of electrical problem 50 minutes into practice when his car shut off. It’s speculated the issue was his fuel pump.
Austin Dillon – Tight in turns 2 and 4. 65 minutes into practice he said, “Entry to the corner is okay but it feels like the rear of the car is doing all of the turning. It’s not digging real well. It just slides.” Towards the end he said he was skating around the turn, his rear wasn’t in the track and his splitter was hitting the track.
