Indianapolis Jeff Kyle 400 NASCAR Practice #2 Notes
Denny Hamlin – In the opening minutes of practice Denny Hamlin’s hood came up and was destroyed (Picture Link). The hood pines weren’t installed correctly. His team repaired his car and he returned to the track almost an hour later. When he returned to the track he said he was free.
Jimmie Johnson – Experienced problems again early in the session. He said when his engine gets up to 5500 RPM’s it shuts off. He focused on qualifying trim this session.

Ryan Newman – Working on balance. His car started the session tight. He also said his car got numb and was tight in traffic. 40 minutes into practice he said his car was a touch better.
Kyle Busch – He liked his balance in the first practice session. Had problems passing Tony Stewart using the draft.
Jeff Gordon – Started in qualifying trim and was at the top of the speed chart early.
