Pocono Windows 10 400 Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kurt Busch – Kurt Busch will be a good fantasy NASCAR pick to win the Pocono Windows 10 400. He runs extremely well here and has been to victory lane twice. Over the last five Pocono races he’s been one of the best drivers. Over this stretch he has the 2nd best driver rating, a 6.2 average finish and a 7.2 average running position. This June he had a fast car. He started on the pole, finished 5th and had a 6th place average running position. Last August he was very competitive and had one of the best cars. His 13th place finish underrates just how strong he was. In the race he started 4th, earned the 5th best driver rating, had an 8th place average running position and led 30 laps. With 8 laps to go while he was running in 10th he got into the wall and that brought out the late caution. Kurt Busch looked great at Pocono in June 2014. He started 2nd, finished 3rd, earned the 3rd best driver rating and led 5 laps. If it wasn’t for portions of the race where pit strategy dropped him in the running order he likely would’ve run in the top 5 the entire event. In August 2013 he was strong in the #78. He finished 3rd, earned the 3rd best driver rating, had a 6th place average running position and led 9 laps. In June 2013 he started back in 20th but that wasn’t a problem. In the first 10 laps of the race he had already driven up to 11th. In that race he finished 7th and earned the 4th best driver rating. Busch’s Pocono victories came in 2007 and 2005. (Yahoo B Driver)

Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick has never won at Pocono but he’s been coming close recently. In the last two Pocono races he’s finished runner-up. This June at Pocono he had a great car and he’s the only driver who had anything for Truex Jr. He was fast over long runs but he trouble during restarts. In the race Harvick finished 2nd, earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 3rd place average running position and led 39 laps. Last August at Pocono he was also very competitive. He finished 2nd, earned the 4th best driver rating and had a 9th place average running position. In June 2014 he was fast but his race wasn’t incident free. On lap 116 while he was running in 2nd he had a tire go down and he was forced to make an unscheduled pit stop. The flat tire dropped him all the way back to 32nd, one lap down. After Danica Patrick spun on lap 137 he finally got the “Lucky Dog” and over the closing laps he rallied to a 14th place finish. Also in June Harvick started in 4th and earned the 5th best driver rating. In August 2013 he started in 14th, had a 16th place average running position and finished 17th. In June 2013 he had a better performance. His 9th place finish is a little misleading because he was running around the top five but during a round of pit stops he got a pit road penalty. That dropped him all the way back to the mid-twenties with less than half the race remaining. In the final 40 laps Kevin Harvick really got on the wheel. He was back in 25th but rallied up to a 9th place finish. If he didn’t get that pit road penalty he was a lock for a top five finish. (Yahoo A Driver)

Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson is always a threat to win at Pocono. At the Tricky Triangle he’s a three-time champion and has finished in the top five 41% percent of the time and in the top ten 67% percent of the time. Earlier this year at Pocono Johnson was impressive even though his race wasn’t incident free. In the race he started 9th, finished 3rd and earned the 4th best driver rating. In the race on lap 87 Johnson had a cut tire under green and made an unscheduled pit stop. Fortunately the caution came out so he had time to regroup and stay on the lead lap. At the time of that incident he was running in the top five and it dropped him back to the mid-twenties. Last August Johnson had a tough afternoon. He started in 17th and on lap 10 while he was running in that position he had a flat tire and it dropped him down a lap early. That wasn’t the last of the adversity he faced. On lap 113 after he bounced back and was running in 5th he got into the wall hard and as a result he immediately went to the garage. When the checkered flag waved he finished 37th. In June 2014 he had a solid race. He started in 20th but in 40 laps he raced his way into the top ten. Unfortunately his race wasn’t incident free. On lap 67 under caution while he was running in 5th he was spun on pit road. It wasn’t minor contact. It damaged his right front and knocked out the 48’s toe. Luckily Pocono is a big track so it allowed his team plenty of time to work on his car. After it was fixed his car wasn’t as good and Johnson said it was very tight. The 48 team can never be counted out and when the checkered flag waved he finished 6th. In August 2013 Johnson had a great car and if he avoided problems he could’ve gone to victory lane. In that race Johnson started on the pole, led 43 laps, earned the 9th best driver rating and finished 13th. Him being able to finish that well is amazing because on lap 76 while he was leading he had a tire go down on exit of a turn and he slapped the wall hard. Over the last 10 laps he rallied from the 20’s up to his 13th place finish. In June 2013 Johnson was dominant. He started on the pole, finished first, had a first place average running position, earned a near perfect driver rating and led 80% percent of the laps. In August 2012 he would’ve reached victory lane except late in the race during the final restart while he was leading him and Kenseth had contact which spun the 48. In the first Pocono race on the new surface he overcame a speeding penalty and finished 4th. (Yahoo A Driver)
