Jeff Gordon started on the pole and led the first 29 laps.
Notable Moment: On lap #2 Kevin Harvick was struggling and was dropping back positions. A bean bag mock weight was under his seat and it rolled under his floorboard. On lap #3 he pitted from 7th.
Notable Moment: Justin Allgaier pitted behind Harvick on lap 3. He was running in the teens.
Big Moment: Around lap 8 Paul Menard came to pit road and then he immediately went to the garage area. He had brake issues.
On lap 9 Jeff Gordon and Marcos Ambrose were about 5 seconds ahead of the field.

Big Moment: On lap 10 Cole Whitt lost control of his car and ran into a tire barrier. He was running in 19th at the time.
On the restart on lap 15 Jimmie Johnson lost two positions.
On lap 16 AJ Allmendinger said he really liked his car. He planned on using a three pit stop strategy.
On lap 17 Brad Keselowski’s nose was damaged from contact with Kenseth. He was running in 7th place at the time.
On lap 18 Kyle Larson missed the interlope and he had to stop on the track as a penalty. He was in 23rd before the penalty. After it he was in 38th place.

On lap 23 Alex Bowman spun and didn’t bring out the caution. He was running in 29th place.
Big Moment: On lap 24 Kyle Busch came down pit road. His window brace broke. He also said his car wouldn’t turn in the corners like he needed it. When he left his pit stall his fuel can was still attached so he was penalized with a stop and go for having equipment leave his pit box.
Notable Moment: On lap 26 Joey Logano was penalized for having his pit crew go over the wall too soon.
On lap 27 Kyle Busch ran into Martin Truex Jr. and did serious chassis damage to his car. He then went to the garage area.

Notable Moment: On lap 42 Keselowski was struggling with his car and said something broke. He was running around 10th at the time. Two laps later he was in 17th.

Big Moment: On lap 50 Jeff Gordon didn’t have power and stopped on the track. Some connection came undone. He was running in 2nd at the time.
