AJ Allmendinger – He’s using the same chassis he won with last year and it’s also the same chassis he used at Sonoma in June. About an hour into practice he said his car is close, closer than last year. He went to qualifying trim for about the final 20 minutes.

Justin Allgaier – Started the session with a 7 laps run. He then said, “This is by far, and I mean by far, the best road course car I’ve ever had.”

Kevin Harvick – Showed good long run speed over his opening run. Had the best 5 lap average. Stayed in race trim the entire session.

Danica Patrick – After completing 3 laps she said her car needed more grip.

David Gilliland – After completing 5 laps he said his car is tight turning to the right and he might be on the splitter. Said he wants help in the bus stop.
