Bristol IRWIN Tools Night Race NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Martin Truex Jr. – Got into the wall hard with 15 minutes to go. He will be going to a backup car. Early in practice he said his car was snapping loose when he got on the gas.

Jimmie Johnson – He was loose early and got into the wall in the first 10 minutes. The damage wasn’t significant and his team repaired his car. He returned to the track 38 minutes later.

Jeb Burton – Spun early and his nose had contact with the inside wall.

Aric Almirola – Bounced his car off the wall and got pretty heavy damage on his side. His team repaired his car. He said it was really good.

Justin Allgaier – After his first run he said his car is good getting into the corners but needs help in turns 3 and 4. During a later run he said his car was better but he would like to be better on the entry of turn 2. During an interview an hour into the session he really liked his car and seemed optimistic.
