Dover NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report
This spring at Dover lots of NASCAR drivers walked away with misleading results. Being able to spot those asterisk mark finishes will help give you the edge on your competition. Below are ten drivers who had misleading results in May.
Denny Hamlin – The #11 car was very fast in May. Hamlin started on the pole, led 118 laps but finished 21st after being involved in a wreck with 15 laps to go. At the time of his race ending incident he was running around 5th. If he didn’t use poor pit strategy about half-way through the race which shuffled him back to the teens I think he was capable of running the entirety of the event in the top five.
Kurt Busch – Kurt Busch walked away with a misleading 31st place finish earlier this year. He was involved in Denny Hamlin’s wreck and at the time of that incident he was running around 8th. For probably about 95% percent of the race he ran between 8th and 13th.
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch had a very strong car in May but finished 36th. Performance wise he was top five good but was involved in an accident with 24 laps to go. At the time of his race ending incident he was running around 3rd.
