Charlotte Race Notes
Matt Kenseth started on the pole and selected the inside groove. On lap #1 Edwards took the lead and led the first two laps.
On lap #3 Matt Kenseth passed Carl Edwards for the lead. He went on to lead the next 25 laps.
On lap #4 it was reported that Trevor Bayne got into the wall.
On lap #5 it was reported that Biffle got into the wall.
15 laps into the race Kenseth had about a 2 second lead.

On lap 20 it was reported that Joey Logano had a consistent car.
Martin Truex Jr.’s car was very quick running the high-line.
On lap 26 when the competition caution came out Kenseth had about a 3.5 second lead.

Notable Moment: During the competition caution Brad Keselowski’s team got a pit penalty when equipment left his box.
Notable Moment: During the competition caution Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a slow pit stop and lost 12 positions. He went in 14th and came out 26th.
During the competition caution restart Joey Logano got the lead and led the next 14 laps.

On lap 44 Denny Hamlin took the lead and led the next 20 laps.
On lap 64 Kevin Harvick passed Denny Hamlin for the lead. His car was good running both the low-line and the high-line. He led the next 15 laps.

During green flag pit stops on lap 76 Dale Earnhardt Jr. said his car got better over the course of a run. He was a rim rider in the race. He was the first to pit because he had a loose wheel.

Notable Moment: On lap 90 Jimmie Johnson spun from 13th. It was a harmless spin and he didn’t hit anything.
During Jimmie Johnson’s spin Brad Keselowski was the only driver who didn’t pit.
During the restart following the Jimmie Johnson caution Kurt Busch took the lead.

Notable Moment: On lap 134 AJ Allmendinger got into the wall.
Big Moment: On lap 137 Justin Allgaier got into the wall hard. He went to the garage area for repairs. AJ Allmendinger was on pit road when Allgaier got into the wall.
During pit stops on lap 139 Dale Earnhardt Jr. said he was very happy with his car.
Notable Moment: During the Allgaier caution Clint Bowyer and Danica Patrick had to make a second pit stop to repair damage from contact on pit road. They were in 25th and 26th at the time.
