Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Charlotte
The Charlotte Coca Cola 600 produced many asterisk mark finishes. More than a handful of drivers walked away with misleading results because of the fuel mileage aspect at the end, wrecks and engine failures.
Carl Edwards – Carl Edwards won the Charlotte Coca Cola 600 but by no means was he that good. His win was the definition of a fuel mileage victory. Performance wise he was probably about 13th place good.
Jimmie Johnson – Jimmie Johnson had a fast car this spring but spun twice. At the time of his first spin on lap 90 he was running in 13th. At the time of his second spin on lap 274 which sent him to the garage area he was running in 5th.

Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney is a driver who’s burned fantasy racers many times this year and the Coca Cola 600 was no different. Performance wise he was low teens good but on lap 282 his engine blew up.
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin might’ve had the best car this spring. He was on pace to win but while he was leading with 38 laps to go he pitted because of a loose wheel. The race went green for the remainder of the event and he finished 8th.
