Jimmie Johnson – Said his car was running strong. Later he said he felt freer in traffic.

Paul Menard – Had a flat left rear tire in the opening minutes of practice and brought out a caution.

Aric Almirola – His car was tight in the opening minutes. Did a 9 lap run around the midpoint and said he had better grip. Following a long run at the end of practice he said he likes his car on exit of the corner. Looking for improvement on entrance.
