AAA Texas 500 Personal / Comparative Fantasy NASCAR Values
Drivers have two types of fantasy value every week. They have Personal Fantasy Value and Comparative Fantasy Value.
Personal Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver is at a certain track compared to the other venues on the circuit.
Comparative Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver compares to the competition at a certain track.
Let’s talk about Jeff Gordon’s fantasy values. His Personal Fantasy Value is medium. I’m probably being generous because realistically it should probably be low. Jeff Gordon is good at a lot of tracks and Texas by no means ranks as one of his better venues. Only at Watkins Glen does he have a worse average finish.
His Comparative Fantasy Value is high. I expect him to be very competitive on Sunday. He was top ten good this spring and in 2014 he led with 10 laps to go in both events.
