AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Erik Jones – Drove the 20 for suspended Matt Kenseth. Started in race trim to shake down his car.
Jeff Gordon – Started in race trim. Had a tire rub early that caused some damage to his sheet metal. Didn’t go to qualifying trim until about the end of the session.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Sat out the first 15 minutes due to qualifying inspection issues last week. Focused on qualifying trim the entire session. His car was tight. At the end of the session he said his car was much better.
Justin Allgaier – During his first run he said he was tight on entry.
