Phoenix Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kevin Harvick – Kevin Harvick is a heavy favorite to win at Phoenix. He’s been dominant in the desert and currently has four straight wins. In 6 of the last 7 Phoenix races he’s finished in the top two. Over his current Phoenix win streak he’s been in a league of his own. In the races over this stretch he has a near perfect driver rating (147.7), a 2.5 average running position and has averaged leading 195.5 laps per race. This spring Harvick had an awesome performance. He started on the pole, earned a perfect driver rating and led 224 laps. Last year at Phoenix Kevin Harvick thumped the competition and unquestionably had the best car in both races. In fall 2014 Kevin Harvick ran a perfect race. He finished 1st, had a 1st place average running position, led 264 laps and earned a perfect driver rating. One stat that’s telling about just how good he was is the fact that he ran 137 fastest laps. In spring 2014 he also put on a display of dominance and won his first race in just his second event for Stewart-Haas Racing. In that race he started in 13th and in just 17 laps he reached 4th. On lap 74 he passed Joey Logano for the lead and after that he waved good bye and was untouchable. In that event he led 224 laps, had a 2nd place average running position and came up .1 shy of earning a perfect driver rating. What made him so strong was his ability to get back on the throttle quicker than the competition. In fall 2013 he had a phenomenal car that handled well and stuck to the bottom of the track around the turns. In that race he started 9th, finished 1st, had the best driver rating and led 70 laps. In spring 2013 at Phoenix he finished 13th but that result deserves an asterisk mark. In that event he claimed he had a top three car but he had a broken left front rotor which hampered his result. In 2012 Kevin Harvick’s recent Phoenix dominance started. In fall 2012 he took advantage of some late cautions and reached victory lane. In spring 2012 he made a serious charge to the win but ran out of gas on the last lap and coasted to a 2nd place finish. (Yahoo A Driver)

Brad Keselowski – Brad Keselowski is a good fantasy NASCAR pick at Phoenix. If you’re looking to pick somebody other than Kevin Harvick he’s about as good as it gets. Over the last seven Phoenix races he has the 2nd best driver rating, a 5.6 average finish and a 6.1 average running position. In every race over this stretch he’s finished in the top 11. This spring he had a strong showing. He started 6th, finished 6th, had a 4th place average running position and led 52 laps. At Phoenix last year he was one of three drivers who swept the top five. Last fall he was a consistent front runner. He started in 2nd, finished 4th, had a 5th place average running position and earned the second best driver rating. Outside of Kevin Harvick he was one of the “best of the rest”. In spring 2014 in the desert Keselowski had a very good car. He started on the pole, finished 3rd, had a 4th place average running position and earned the 4th best driver rating. In fall 2013 he was strong. He finished 11th, led 29 laps, had a 9th place average running position and earned the 7th best driver rating. In the 2013 spring race he finished 4th, had a 7th place average running position, and earned the 3rd best driver rating. In fall 2012 Keselowski was very competitive. In that race he finished 6th and led 10 laps. Performance wise in that race he was extremely strong over long runs and if he didn’t throttle back after Jimmie Johnson wrecked he probably could’ve won. This year at shorter flat tracks Keselowski has scored the 5th most points and has an underrated 9.0 average finish. Recently Keselowski tested at Phoenix and he was very happy with how his car performed. (Yahoo A Driver)
