Daytona 500 Personal / Comparative Fantasy Values
Drivers have two types of fantasy value every week. They have Personal Fantasy Value, and Comparative Fantasy Value.
Personal Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver is at a certain track compared to the other venues on the circuit.
Comparative Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver compares to the competition at a certain track.
Let’s talk about 2015 Sprint Cup Champion Kyle Busch’s fantasy values. His personal fantasy value is medium. He runs well at Daytona but it certainly doesn’t rank as one of his better tracks. In terms of average finish it ranks as his 18th best track. Since 2012 at Daytona he hasn’t had a top ten and has a 21.6 average finish. He ran well in many of those races but had problems (7th best driver rating).
His comparative fantasy value is high. Against the competition I think he stacks up very well and will be very competitive on Sunday. Also it should be noted defending Sprint Cup champions have been very successful in this event. In the last three Daytona 500’s the reigning Sprint Cup champion has a 3.66 average finish.
