Can-Am Duel 150 special fantasy NASCAR considerations
The Can-Am Duel 150’s are qualifying races that set the field for the Daytona 500. NASCAR doesn’t award points, and the race pays very little.
The main incentive for many drivers on Thursday night is to avoid wrecking. The chassis they are using is their best and has been worked on for the last couple of months. Almost the entire field is locked into the Daytona 500 so I expect drivers to take very little risk. If things get wild in the draft I wouldn’t be shocked if drivers just pull out of line and drop to the back because not wrecking is better then starting in the back in the Daytona 500.
This is a race of drivers with agenda’s and I think those events can be dangerous to fantasy racers. Drivers won’t be giving it their all which has a potential trap element to the race.
