Daytona 500 NASCAR Happy Hour Practice Notes
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Spent part of the session getting his cockpit to his liking. His team is upbeat. Feels good about his car. Said his car has great speed. Really looking forward to the race. Said the track surface was starting to show age.
Clint Bowyer – His team was testing out some changes they made to make his car drive better. Led a pack of cars early in the session. Finished practice an hour early. His crew chief said, “Alrighty boys let’s get ready to race.”
Greg Biffle – Said his car has been fast off the truck. Happy with his car. Said he feels as good as he’s ever been heading into the Daytona 500. Thinks he has an opportunity to win the Daytona 500.
Austin Dillon – He spent the session adding more mirrors to his cockpit.
Brian Scott – Ran by himself early in the session. Fine tuned his car. Worked on getting his car dialed in for pit road speeds. Ran with Aric Almirola 45 minutes into the session. “Gotta get it where we’re confident it’s going to drive and get some abuse in the draft.” Said he feels more optimistic each time he gets into his car.
