Atlanta Personal / Comparative Fantasy Values
Drivers have two types of fantasy value every week. They have Personal Fantasy Value, and Comparative Fantasy Value.
Personal Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver is at a certain track compared to the other tracks on the circuit.
Comparative Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver compares to the competition at a certain track.
Let’s talk about AJ Allmendinger’s fantasy values at Atlanta.
His Personal Fantasy Value is high. Atlanta has been a good track for him and might be his best outside of road courses and shorter flat tracks. His overall Atlanta average finish minus 2014 when he had vibration problems is 13.5 over 9 races. That’s pretty good in my book for a driver of his caliber. In every race of his here minus 2014 he’s finished in the top twenty. His last three Atlanta results minus 2014 are 7th, 14th and 10th.
His Comparative Fantasy Value is medium. Although he’s been successful here I still see him as a mid-pack driver. I will note he does have up-side sleeper value and shouldn’t be overlooked.
