Martinsville STP 500 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Trevor Bayne – Ran quite a bit of laps in race trim early. Went to qualifying trim 45 minutes into practice. At the end of practice with 27 seconds to go he wheel hopped and wrecked his car. He’ll be going to a backup.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Looked strong and his car rotated well in the corners. About 15 minutes into practice he reported he was too tight in the center. Went to qualifying trim about 35 minutes into practice.

Austin Dillon – After running 7 laps he said his car was loose, his crew chief said his car was perfect. Was looking for more speed. Focused 100% on qualifying trim this session.

Clint Bowyer – Said he’s a little tight in the center. Was in race trim for the final 40 minutes of practice.

Joey Logano – Was in qualifying trim the entire session.
