Texas Pre-Race Notes
Matt Kenseth missed the race due to suspension. Erik Jones drove the #20 in his place.
Tony Stewart started in the rear of the field for missing driver introductions.
Brian Scott drove the #33.
The fuel window was 55 – 60 laps.
All practice on Saturday before the race was canceled because of track drying issues.
Texas Race Notes
Brad Keselowski won the pole and selected the inside lane. He jumped to an early lead and led the first 17 laps.
Big Moment: On lap 10 Joey Logano had a flat tire and spun bringing out the first caution. The spin caused damage to his car and sent the #22 to the garage for many laps. Joey Logano was running in 4th at the time of his spin.
During the restart for the Joey Logano spin Kevin Harvick passed Brad Keselowski for the lead. He led the next 9 laps.
On lap 21 it was reported Ryan Blaney had some contact with thew all.
Running order on lap 22: 4,2,18,88,42,78,19,16,48,20 … 24,31,41,15,3,21,10,27,1,5 … 11,14,33,6,55,47,7,43,9,17
Big Moment: On lap 25 Ryan Blaney slowed on the track after pancaking his car into the wall. It brought out a caution. This marked the end of his race.
Truex Jr. started in 23rd and was up to 5th at the time of the Ryan Blaney incident. He really liked his car.
Notable Moment: During the Ryan Blaney caution while coming to pit road David Ragan ran into the back of another car and got damage to his nose.
Big Moment: During the Ryan Blaney caution Denny Hamlin went to the garage area for fuel pump related issues.
Notable Moment: During the Ryan Blaney caution AJ Allmendinger was penalized for having an uncontrolled tire. Aric Almirola was also penalized for having too many men over the wall.
On the restart following the Ryan Blaney caution Brad Keselowski retook the lead.
Notable Moment: On lap 36 while running in 2nd Kevin Harvick had a tire go down and it brought out the caution.

Notable Moment: On lap 48 while running in 5th Dale Earnhardt Jr. had a flat tire. No caution came out for his incident and it dropped him down a lap, deep into the running order.
Big Moment: On lap 52 Tony Stewart spun out and damaged his car when he slid into the grass. This marked the end of his race.

On lap 67 Kurt Busch really liked his car.
On lap 67 Kevin Harvick was up to 8th after his earlier flat.
