Texas Duck Commander 500 NASCAR Happy Hour Notes
Carl Edwards – Likes his car. Said it was fast and handled well in an interview before Happy Hour. Worked on tire management this session. Had good short run speed. Ended with a 22 lap run. Thinks he can get to victory lane if his team gets his balance right.
Kevin Harvick – Practiced running at the top of the track. Happy with his car. Has minimal tire wear. Working on what they learned on Thursday when they focused on being good in race trim.
Martin Truex Jr. – Showed very good long run speed at the start of the session. Started with an 8 lap run. His car was spitting out some oil. His team wasn’t concerned. His car was a tick tight but that’s how his team wants his car to be at the start of the race tomorrow. Wants his car to turn better. Ended the session with the fastest overall lap, best 5 lap average and 5th best 10 lap average.
Clint Bowyer – “Pretty good back to the gas in 3 & 4.” During the closing minutes he said he was tight.
