Bristol Race Notes
Denny Hamlin won the pole and selected the bottom lane. He led the opening 26 laps.
Early in the race the top groove was clearly the fastest way around the track.
On lap 24 Denny Hamlin started catching lapped traffic. That gave Kyle Busch the opportunity to get around him.
Kyle Busch was very happy with his car. On lap 27 he took the lead and led 100 of the next 101 laps. Garage insiders viewed his car as the best.

On lap 52 the first caution came out for debris. It allowed Hamlin to lead 1 lap on pit road because of where his pit box was located.
During the first caution Dale Earnhardt Jr. pitted twice for a suspected loose wheel. He was running in 16th but restarted in 42nd.
During the first caution Ryan Blaney and Danica Patrick both got penalized for speeding.

Around lap 100 Dale Earnhardt Jr. got lapped.
Kyle Busch’s car made good speed when he ran the low-line to pass lapped traffic.

Big Moment: On lap 111 while running in 4th Matt Kenseth’s engine blew up.
Big Moment: On lap 125 while running in 3rd Kyle Larson had a tire go down and got a commitment line violation. Also when he got his flat he had some contact with the wall. This brought out the caution.
During the Kyle Larson caution Kevin Harvick got a pit road penalty which put him back in the pack.

Big Moment: On lap 147 AJ Allmendinger had a tire go down and spun into the inside wall. He was running around 28th at the time.
On lap 155 Kyle Busch passed Denny Hamlin for the lead. He then led the next 70 laps.
Carl Edwards liked his car over long runs.

Shortly after 220 Tony Stewart got lapped. Earlier in the race he was previously lapped but got the free pass.
On lap 225 Joey Logano passed Kyle Busch for the lead. He then led the next 28 laps.
