Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Bristol Food City 500
Ty Dillon – Ty Dillon will drive the #14 at Bristol. It’s an interesting decision when you consider Brian Vickers has finished in the top ten in 5 of his last 6 Bristol races. In the Sprint Cup series Ty Dillon has no Sprint Cup starts under his belt at Bristol. In the lower series at Thunder Valley he’s run well. In the last two season in the Xfinity Series he’s finished between 4th and 6th every race. That’s pretty consistent in my book. Last year he swept the top five with results of 4th and 5th. Dillon does a good job avoiding trouble on the track and if he can have an incident free race I think he has a great chance to come home with a good result. From an allocation standpoint picking Ty Dillon makes a lot of sense.
Ryan Blaney – Last August Blaney made his first start at Bristol. It wasn’t a great performance but he did avoid trouble and earned valuable track time. In the race he started 15th, finished 22nd, had a 24th place average running position and earned the 24th best driver rating. Last August prior to the Cup race he won the Truck Race. In 2014 at Bristol in the Xfinity Series he went to victory lane.

Chase Elliott – Bristol is tough on rookies but Chase Elliott might be a driver to watch. Last year in the Xfinity Series he ranked as one of the best drivers at short tracks. In that division at Bristol in 2015 he finished 6th and 7th. I think it should also be noted that Chase Elliott will have a great setup underneath him. In recent races at Thunder Valley Jeff Gordon was extremely competitive. Last August if Gordon didn’t make two unexpected pit stops in the last 100 laps he had a great chance to finish in the top five. In spring 2015 he finished 3rd.
Chris Buescher – Chris Buescher isn’t completely a rookie at Bristol. Last spring he drove the #34 at Thunder Valley. In the race he started 38th, earned the 38th best driver rating, had a 35th place average running position and finished 25th. It’s important to note that was a super high attrition event and his average running position is a good indicator towards his level of competitiveness. Last year in the Xfinity Series he finished 3rd and 11th.
Brian Scott – Brian Scott has never raced at Bristol in NASCAR’s top division so let’s examine how he performed in NASCAR’s lower division. Last year in the Xfinity Series he had a great year. For the season he came home with results of 6th and 8th. In 2014 he finished 11th and 14th. I think he has a chance to have moderate success if he can avoid attrition. Teammate Aric Almirola has been a solid performer over the last couple races here.
