Bristol Food City 500 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Jimmie Johnson – After completing his first run in race trim he said, “It drives awesome, buddy. Thank you.” His car felt comfortable. Chad Knaus really liked his speed in qualifying trim.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Has very high expectations this weekend. Started in race trim. His car was loose. Midway through practice he was still fighting a loose condition.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Started in race trim. During his first run his car started free. The longer he got into a run the better his car got on exit. After his third run he was looking for more rear grip. Went to qualifying trim 50 minutes into practice.

Chase Elliott – Reported that his car was really free. 30 minutes into practice he said, “It was a little tighter on initial throttle, but not much.”
