Richmond Personal / Comparative Fantasy Values
Drivers have two types of fantasy value every week. They have Personal Fantasy Value, and Comparative Fantasy Value.
Personal Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver is at a certain track compared to the other tracks on the circuit.
Comparative Fantasy Value is an estimation of how good the driver compares to the competition at a certain track.
Let’s talk about Clint Bowyer’s fantasy values. His Personal Fantasy Value is high. Richmond is a great track for him and belongs in the conversation of being his best track. He’s won here twice and has finished in the top ten 60% percent of the time.
His Comparative Fantasy Value is low. Attrition won’t rescue him this week. I expect him to have a poor showing at Richmond. His car simply isn’t competitive. Phoenix is the most similar track on the schedule and this spring he struggled and finished 31st in the desert.
